Moose's Wish List
I apologize for the length of this - it's really intended to give an idea of my taste and the sorts of things I like, rather than me trying to be greedy.
If you wish to know sizes, whether or not I already have something, my favorite styles or authors, etc..., please contact Bill.
Also, Bill and I have added a family wishlist for those things that either we both want (and would therefore make good
presents for either of us) or for those who would rather buy something a little bigger for the family as a whole. Be sure to check it out!
- The last year has been a VERY stressful one for me what with finances, pregnancy, new baby, etc... What I really want more than anything else this Christmas
are things to help me enhance my own personal well-being and satisfaction. I really want to go back to Curves gym to help lose weight and get in shape, but
I have no money for membership fees. I would also like to go back on Weight Watchers, but again, have no money for that sort of thing in the budget. I have this
dream of getting a membership at Massage Envy with monthly massages. Some adult education classes of some sort would be nice - I don't really care the subject
matter. I feel like I want to join some sort of local club or group, but have no ideas what so just a nudge in a direction that you think I would like is
appreciated. Babysitting so I could have some occasional time out would be heavenly. I'm sure if I thought about it, I could come up with some other things
but I'm too tired at the moment for more ideas.
- The one downside to losing so much weight is that my clothes are falling off me. I can't even tell you what size I am any more as it has changed too much
recently. My favorite stores for shopping at include Lane Bryant, Sears, JCPenny, LL Bean, and Coldwater Creek. Just about anything would be lovely,
though I am hoping to have slightly more stylish and tailored things in the future as I'm tired of always looking so sloppy and oversized. Gift certificates
are always appreciated.
- An extra battery for my laptop (HP zd7310us),
especially if it has its own charger and doesn't have to be charged while in the laptop.
- A lovely armoire to hide away my sewing machine & craft supplies; preferably something that opens out with enough space for two machines (sewer & serger) while
being able to close completely so little hands can't get into my things. There was a perfect one at Ikea that I fell in love with, but I can't seem to find it
online now.
- An embroidery sewing machine, where you can scan in patterns and reproduce them
- Some additional matching pieces for my tea set, so I have enough tea cups for everyone plus some plates for snacks and a few serving dishes. The pattern is
Johnson Brothers Old Britain Castles Pink. One place I've found them is at Gift
Collector, but you might well be able to find the pieces cheaper somewhere else. I really want 4 more tea cups and 4 more saucers, plus 8 dessert plates,
a pair of candy dishes, and a sandwich tray.
- A spa pillow to lean my head on while relaxing in the tub, like this or this
- A massaging back rest with a light for reading in bed
- Some original artwork; I love subtle things, particularly ones with texture or substance, and I love stained glass and carved wood. My favorite style of art is
impressionistic, though not necessarily classical impressionism, and I generally hate modern. Obviously nothing that would be inappropriate for children
will do :-)
- Speaking of artwork, any prints (preferably signed) or even original pieces (yeah, right!) by Thomas "Tom" Canty. The only one I have is "White Raven", which
Ginger gave me for our 11th anniversary. Here are a few that I've managed to track down:
- Wood hangers for my closet - I'm tired of having my closet look so messy, so I'm slowly changing all the hangers to wood. It's the little things in life that
really make us happy, isn't it? Anyway, I'd really like some natural wood (no dark stains on the wood, please, or they won't match the rest of the closet) shirt
hangers. Preferably with no-skid stuff on them, but that's certainly negotiable. Target has had some beautiful ones that I love, but I can't find
them online now.
- A full-size digital piano with full-size keys and a full, 88-key keyboard and with weighted keys (I miss having my piano!); no special voices or features needed,
though a damper pedal and a stand would be nice, as would a headphone jack to I can practice without disturbing anyone. Yes, I realize that these are horribly
expensive and, no, I don't expect to ever get one but I can dream, can't I? Here's the one I'm dreaming of:
a Yamaha YDP223 88-Key Graded Hammer Piano. I've even started saving money in a box
for my "digital piano" fund, so if you'd like to contribute directly to the fund, feel free!
